Counterfeit Money in M'Chigeeng :

The UCCM Anishnaabe Police Service is currently investigating an incident involving counterfeit money which has surfaced in one of our communities recently. On Wednesday 22 November 2006 in the First Nation of M'Chigeeng a community business owner was counting the days receipts when the owner came across a $20.00 bill that did not appear to be genuine. The owner compared the bill to other similar bills and discovered some discrepancies. The owner turned the bill over to Police the following day for investigation. It became apparent when Police examined the bill that the security features had been tampered with, among other discrepancies, when compared to other similar bills. All area business are advised to be vigilante when taking in cash and report immediately to Police should more such bills surface. The serial number of this bill was ARS6138255.
