Flowchart Summary of Constable Recruitment Process

Applicants seeking a career as a Constable with us are encouraged to begin their preparation as soon as practical.  The Service requires applicants to submit their pre-screening test results (Ontario Constable Selection System) from Applicant Testing Services (see contact info below) with their application. Obtaining this certificate requires advance preparation, and serious applicants are encouraged to work towards their OACP Certificate well in advance, prior to employment positions being formally posted, as the recruitment period may be for a short period.  Applicants are further encouraged to prepare for the physical fitness requirements of the testing, and to confirm both character and employment references that you will need with your application package.

FAQ : Do I need to have a Police Foundations Diploma in order to apply?

We encourage applicants from all educational disciplines to apply.  Having a diploma in police foundations is not a mandatory requirement, but having this background knowledge will certainly provide you greater insight into what can be expected and required in a policing career.
