Student Bursary Award

Purpose Of Award:

To promote and reward excellence in academic achievement for the student population in the U.C.C.M. First Nation communities.

Eligibility Requirements:


Post secondary students currently enrolled in a policing/law/justice related field of study are encouraged - but all fields of study are eligible; and

Student must be a registered band member of a U.C.C.M. First Nation Community;and

Student has completed at least one semester of their program of study and will be returning to school to complete their studies.

Application Requirements:


*Student must provide two (2) letters of reference: one academic reference to attest to your commitment to your chosen program of study; the second reference letter will be from a community member to attest to your community involvement, volunteer work, and other contributions; and

*A latest copy of your transcript must be included; and,

*A two page essay (double spaced) outlining your career goals and why you have chosen your specific program of study.

Amount Of Award :

The U.C.C.M. Police Services Commission will review all applications received, and will determine the individual amounts to be awarded to each student.

Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Deadline for Applications: August 31, 2010

Recipients and amounts of award will be determined by the UCCM Police Services Commission on September 9, 2010.
