Niigan Mosewak Program

“Walking Forward”

The Niigan Mosewak Program is a mentorship program designed for Aboriginal youth aged 12-17. It delivers powerful messages of hope for future leaders through the encouragement of positive and healthy lifestyle choices. The vision of this program was to enhance community wellness through the promotion of personal wellness and respect. Through celebrating cultural pride and distinction, the youth are given the opportunity to celebrate who they are and to “Walk Forward” in a positive direction.

The program activities include: drum building, mask making, leadership skills, traditional Anishnaabe teachings, healthy relationships, drug and alcohol awareness, internet safety and team building experiences.

For more information on these programs or to schedule one of our officers to deliver the programs within your school or community, please contact one of our Sergeants on duty at 705-377-7135.
