UCCM Police Foot Chase Leads to Arrest

M’Chigeeng First Nation – On the 21st of July 2017 UCCM Police were on routine patrol when they observed a M’Chigeeng man who was wanted by UCCM Police on outstanding warrants for domestic charges.  Officers made an attempt to stop the man who was on his a bicycle but refused to stop for police.  The man ditched his bicycle and continued on foot but was soon apprehended by police in a  wooded area in a near-by residential subdivision.

A 24 year old M’Chigeeng Man is charged with the following offences:

Spousal Assault sec. 266 CC
Uttering Threats to cause death or Bodily Harm Sec. 264.1(1)(a) CC
Unlawfully in a Dwelling House Sec. 349(1) CC
Assault Causing Bodily Harm – Spousal Assault Sec. 267(b) X 2 Counts
Overcoming Resistance Sec. 246(a) CC
6.  Escape Lawful Custody Sec. 145(1)(a)    CC

The accused is currently in custody awaiting Bail.
