Accused is considered armed and dangerous.  Do Not Approach!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – M’Chigeeng, ON, April 22, 2024

Just before 10:00am, on Friday, April 19th, 2024, UCCM police were called regarding an unwanted person at a residence in M’Chigeeng.  Further information revealed that a firearm was pointed at the victim and the accused was still believed to be in the residence. As a result, the UCCM Crime Unit and the OPP Criminal Investigations Branch were activated.

UCCM Police along with the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) began containment. The OPP Critical Incident Command unit, Crisis negotiators, the Tactical Rescue Unit and K9 Unit, later arrived and the residence was searched with negative results.

This is believed to be a targeted, isolated incident.  Currently the accused and firearm are still outstanding.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Mr. Mitchell Osama Gillingham (33) of Windsor for the following offences:

  • CC 87 Pointing a Firearm
  • CC 267(a) Assault with A Weapon
  • CC 86(1) Carry Firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition in a careless manner.
  • CC 91(1) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

This remains an active investigation with the UCCM Police and the OPP.

Please do not approach the accused, MITCHELL GILLINGHAM, as he is CONSIDERED ARMED AND DANGEROUS.
