UCCM Incident number UF22000548

Just after 1:25 am on Tuesday, April 05th, 2022, UCCM Anishnaabe Police were called regarding a shooting at an address on Pine St, in M’Chigeeng First Nation.

When Officers arrived on scene, they located a male who had been shot and began life saving measures.  The male was transported to the hospital where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

A vehicle had been observed earlier, in the area of the shooting, by witnesses, relayed this information to OPP Comm Centre.  OPP Officers were able to stop this vehicle in Little Current and arrest the occupants.

The victim and accused individuals are not from M’Chigeeng First Nation.

This is believed to be a targeted and isolated incident.

Detectives from UCCM Anishnaabe Police and OPP Criminal Investigation Branch are actively working on this investigation.

This investigation is in the very early stages, police would like to speak with anyone that has direct knowledge of this incident.
