(M’CHIGEENG FIRST NATION, ON) – On May 10th, 2023, at approximately 2:00 a.m., the United Chiefs and Councils of Manitoulin Anishnaabe Police Services (UCCM) along with the Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Emergency response Team, Canine and Forensic Identification Unit responded to a report of gun shots fired in the area of Pine Wood Park in M’Chigeeng, Ontario.

No injuries occurred but there was damage to property. Police believe that this occurrence is an isolated incident and that there is no imminent threat to the community and the public. This investigation is active and on-going.

Police are asking if anyone has knowledge or information of this crime, to please contact the UCCM Police Detachment. Further, if anyone has residential cameras that may have captured relevant information, they are asked to please contact the UCCM Police Detachment by leaving their name and phone number.
