** Traffic stop leads to drug charges and driving charges against 27-year-old M’Chigeeng FN man who was wanted for fail to attend court **
Just before 3:00 p.m. on November 15th, 2024, a UCCM Uniform Officer observed a male party who was wanted by UCCM for fail to attend court for a previous assault charge (UF23001326).
The male was observed driving and was also known to be a suspended driver.
A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver was confirmed to be a suspended driver and to have an outstanding arrest warrant for fail to attend court.
A search incident to arrest, located approximately 22 grams of what is believed to be cocaine (crack) on his person.
As a result, the male party has been charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking to wit: cocaine a schedule I drug – S. 5(2) CDSA
- Driving while suspended – S. 53 HTA
- Fail to attend court (for previous charge of assault) – S. 145(4) CC
Male party was processed and released on an Undertaking with a later court date.
