WEAPONS OCCURRENCE IN M’CHIGEENG FIRST NATION

UCCM Officers & Specialized Units Arrest Three People Involved in Weapons Incident

On July 10, 2026, members of the UCCM Anishnaabe Police Service Patrol Services, with the assistance of the UCCM Anishnaabe Police Service K9 Unit and Crime Unit, responded to an occurrence in M’Chigeeng First Nation. This occurrence involved multiple parties and during a physical altercation a firearm was presented and pointed at another person. One of the involved parties then fled the area in an off road vehicle. Later that day members of the UCCM Anishnaabe Police Crime Unit, K9, and Patrol, along with OPP Emergency Response Team and Tactics Rescue Unit, executed a search warrant in M’Chigeeng First Nation and seized a number of items in relation to the incident. During the occurrence, a shelter-in-place order was issued for part of M’Chigeeng First Nation. The shelter-in-place order was lifted around 5:30 PM on July 10.

As a result of the investigation the following parties were arrested and charged with the following offences:

Richard Jr MCLEAN-CORBIERE (RJ MCLEAN)

  • Assault x3
  • Assault with a Weapon x1
  • Pointing a Firearm x1
  • Possession of Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose x1
  • Uttering Threats x4
  • Mischief x2

RJ MCLEAN was arrested on July 13, 2026, and held for bail; he was released on a Release Order by the Ontario Court of Justice.

Richard Sr MCLEAN

  • Assault x1

Richard MCLEAN was arrested on July 10, 2026, and released on an Undertaking with conditions.
